Hyundai was the first manufacturer to plan the development of hybrid, plug-in, and fully electric vehicles. The new vehicles were named IONIQ. Since their arrival, the vehicles have undergone a few upgrades to make them more attractive, convenient and safer. See the latest models in our Haddad Hyundai inventory.
Design Features
The hybrid and plug-in models have new meshed grilles while the all-electric features a closed grille. The front and rear of the vehicles also have an updated fascia and side moldings. LED-powered head, tail, and daytime running lights are now standard. There are also new wheel designs from which to choose.
On the inside, prospective owners can choose to upgrade the infotainment screen to a 10.25-inch widescreen option. The driver's instrument panel exudes a bit of luxury thanks to the dark chrome trim. The heating and cooling controls are now easily accessed on the touchscreen panel. Add ambient lighting to set the mood on road trips.
Performance
The performance levels of all Hyundai IONIQ models outdo the competition. The battery pack capacity is a full 38.3 kWh, which enables owners to drive up to 170 miles on a full charge. The charger of the Hyundai IONIQ is rated at 7.2 kW, which decreases the time needed to charge the battery pack. In this way, charging the battery pack at a 100 kW station provides an 80 percent charge in under one hour.
Between the gas engine and the battery pack on the hybrid, the Hyundai IONIQ has an EPA rating of 59 MPG while also delivering 134 horsepower.
Safety Technology
Enhancements on the new Hybrid Blue models include forward-collision and lane-departure assist systems along with automatic high beams. Improvements on the SEL trim model include a smart control system that adjusts itself according to traffic flow. The new Hyundai IONIQ also features a wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, and powered side mirrors.
The Limited IONIQ trim levels come equipped with ambient lighting and a premium sound system. The many safety features that are now standard include forward collision, smart cruise control, and lane-departure assist. The parking assist system also makes parallel parking a breeze.
