The New York International Auto Show is in full swing at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC and Hyundai has made some exciting announcements about the future of the Hyundai Sonata.
It's only fitting that Hyundai unveiled the new Sonata design where the current model was revealed 3 years ago. Mike O'Brien, VP of Product, Corporate & Digital Planning, was joined by Chris Chapman and Edward Lee, two of the designers from Hyundai's Irvine, CA studio, for the presentation. O'Brien promised "the 2018 Sonata will take the promise of better to even higher levels delivering even more standard features and refinement for Sonata fans". In addition to its sleek look and improved technology, more safety features, such as standard rear-cross traffic alert in all Sonatas, and teased an exciting Bluelink announcement, but we'll get back to that later.
Chapman and Lee, the designers who were present at the reveal, talked (and sketched) the audience through the new design, detailing why some of the choices were made and shared some of the inspiration for these choices. Here, watch the presentation for yourself- you won't be disappointed.
The 2018 Hyundai Sonata is expected to start hitting lots across the country this summer and we can't wait! Until then- check out our 2017 Sonata inventory right here at Haddad Hyundai, 689 East St in Pittsfield MA.
