Hyundai values their fan's safety, so they recently began a recall for the 2008-2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring. The recall involves the possible failure of the power steering. While no fatalities, injuries, or accidents have resulted in conjunction with this issue, Hyundai is taking the safety of their customers seriously.
The problem results in a discrepancy in the steering input signals, which causes drivers to experience greater difficulty in driving their vehicle. While turning the ignition on and off can rectify the issue, Hyundai has chosen to recall the model to update the power steering control for your benefit.
The recall will begin in the second quarter, and owners will be notified. Hyundai will update the Electronic Power Steering and EPS control unit free of charge.
